My life has been a little crazy...

I'm sorry that I've been so MIA over the last few weeks - it really has been busy around here.  Between the end of the semester (and trying to get a very long-overdue health test done), starting fruit sales for 4-H and juggling school and music lessons, I haven't had time to be on here. And I know I've said that a lot, but I will be on this weekend - I hope to anyway.  I do have homework I know I have to do before Monday...things I really want to finish before 2nd semester starts.  Hope you all have had a great New Year so far - isn't it crazy how fast January has flown? :)

New blog!!

   In case that title excited dread in your mind, never fear...I'll still have this blog be my main way of communication.  I created another blog because I really want to do book, movie, and music reviews over
 The Media Mix  - I haven't done any decorating/updating/getting it lookin' spiffy, so it's not much to look at.  But I hope to get it up and going during Christmas break!! :)

I have a feeling that I'm going to be doing a lot of things during Christmas break - but I'm planning on getting the most important things done first though...;)

I'm all done!!! :)

 Not with school yet - I wish though. :)  In case you didn't read my last post, (which I totally understand:)  I took and finished the ACT test today for the 2nd time!!!! I"m so glad to be done with it too!!!  The Math seemed easier than last time and the English and Reading were not that hard either.  The Science is what got me this time - I'm hoping to get a 23-25 score this time because then I can apply for at least a minimal scholarship if not more at the school I finally choose to go to.

So just a heads up on my life this weekend- I have a 4-H Club Christmas Party tonight to go to, so I'm off to cleaning and laundry (you don't even want to see my room right now - it's not a pig-sty yet but it looks like a cross between a tornado and a....um...well...I don't know what else - but I do have clothes everywhere to put away)...:)

I know what I said, but I couldn't resist!!! :)

 I know that I said I wouldn't be on here until Christmas break and I'm not technically breaking that promise (this isn't one of those "fun" posts, full of photos, clothes, etc)...it's more of a really quick update. :)  I'm taking the ACT test tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM - (way to early, in my humble opinion)...:P

But anyways, I wanted to let you know about this really awesome website that I used to study for the test.  It's: www.sparknotes.com - they have really helpful study guides for different kinds of tests but there also are articles/topics on pretty much anything.
   I found this really funny article entitled "Eight Questions That I Never Want to Hear About Homeschooling" or something to that effect.  The author went on to list eight questions that she frequently hears when people find out that she's a homeschooler (that kind of pertains to me because I'm a part-one too...that came out kind of funny :)  It was a really funny article because she had the answer that she would have given them plus a really funny "homeschoolerish" answer.  It was hillarious!!!!!! :)

So there's a little update - not very exciting, not any pictures, probably not something that I would be that interested to read if I was one of my blogs' followers (well I am, in a sense...just not like ya'll are)...hope ya'll enjoy your weekend!!  I'm off to take a hot bath followed by an early-to-bed mindset......:) <3

I probably won't be posting on here until Christmas break - my priorities right now have to be school and music practicing (piano, voice) so for those of you who visit my blog from now until then, I won't have posted anything new...I still have to figure out where my blog fits into my life and if it's something I really want to focus on and put time/energy into.

it might be a while...

I have a lot of school to do and the school's fall plays are this weekend (and I'm in one - small part :) so I probably won't be on here for a while - maybe not even until Christmas break!! Hope you all have an awesome Thanksgiving next week!! :)

I'm ok now - I think :)

Given the post last night, ya'll may be wondering if I'm going to be on here anymore...I am, but I have to set boundaries.  And as you can probably guess, I'm not done with school  yet - so that's one of my goals.

1) Be done with school before doing anything on blogger.
2) Make a schedule.

The one thing I really don't like is that when I think about the stuff above, I think "I should be way beyond this point now - I'm a senior and I should be able to manage my own time, get schoolwork done, and get good grades".   Well, I'll try - and I'm not succeeding so far - I'm probably not going to be on here tomorrow at all - and that's a promise!! :)  So I might be on here Thursday? Otherwise, not until next week - we're going to be gone this weekend for deer hunting (for my dad - not me though :) and we're celebrating my grandma's 90th birthday as well.  Hope you all have a great rest of the week!! :)

Update on Grandma...

We got back from the hospital on Sunday night (the 16th) - sorry it's taken me so long to update ya'll on here...I've been busy getting back into the swing of things (I didn't do school, piano, or voice for 4 days, so I'm trying to get caught up :). 

Grandma's surgery went really well and she's already started feeling better. She's started PT (physical therapy) and they'll be working with her for about 10 days and then see where she is at strenghtwise.  She's works on walking with the walker, raising her arms above her head (they had to cut into muscle for the surgery, so her shoulder area is really sore), marching in place - those type of things.  Hopefully, she'll be able to go back to her apartment, but if things don't progress like they should, or she isn't strong enough, she may end up in the nursing home, which we really don't want.  Her numbness is better, but it may not completely go away.  The surgery was able to stop the numbness from progressing and hopefully her fibromyolgia will get better too.

The hospital, Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, is a really cool place.  And they have amazing food too! :)  We ate at the cafeteria a few different times and they had a wide variety - anything you were craving at the moment, including frozen yogurt - Yum!! :)

Anyway, she's doing a lot better and she's in the best place she can be right now.  We're just glad that she's still with us and doing as well as she can be at her age.

I am going to try and do a post with pictures soon so you know what I've been up to...:) I have to charge my camera battery first in order to get pics to post, and I have to go through some of the ones I have on there too.  School is keeping me busy, so I'll try and post this weekend sometime. :)

a blustery post...

So life is just so crazy right now- I already spend enough time on Gmail and Blogger, more than I should, plus other websites (collegefashion.net is an amazing site - just sayin':)  Anyways, then my school doesn't get done, which is how it is right now.  I'm finishing up chemistry and geometry and I'm starting Alg. 2 soon and government and worldview...I'm in choir at school and I'm in show choir too, I have two voice lessons per week and piano is every other week, which is nice.  I'm going to a girls' retreat this weekend that my cousin is hosting - I'm so excited for it!  It should be fun to get out and enjoy this beautiful, yet really windy, fall weather.  I still haven't gotten senior pics done yet - I'm excited for those too!  I have like 60 pic ideas on a USB drive - don't know how I'm going to pick my outifts and such, I'm waiting of those fall leaves to turn a pretty shade.  The problem is that I tend to think about everything at once - like right now I have a math test waiting to be finished before my tutor comes tonite...I haven't really decided if I want a blog right now.  It seems fun and all, but I think I have to get my priorities straight first.  It seems like that won't probably happen until I get to college, when I'll be too busy to even go on here.  I'll have to make strict boundaries for that and websites too once I leave. I'm so super pumped for Courageous to come out next Friday night!!!!!!! I wish our movie theatre would get it on opening night but they probably won't get it until the next weekend and besides, I might do senior pics next weekend since I'm gone this weekend.  I think that Blogger and reading and music are my escapes - I get a peak into other peoples' worlds and wish I was them instead of who I am...that's not always good I guess.  Sorry this is such a random post - just trying to sort everything out and decide if this is something I want to do - I'd love to do it, but I don't have time to get the blog in order to make it interesting...I have to get my schedule and priorites straight first...

A Crazy, Busy Summer

Well, as you can probably tell, if this is the way this blog is going to be updated (aka, every 3 months or so) you probably won't want to follow it.  I completely understand. I just haven't made up my mind as to whether I really want a blog or if I should wait until I graduate to get Facebook - as of yet, Dad won't let me get Facebook on 'his' computer, aka the one I'm using right now.  And I obviously don't have the layout and design finished on this one yet, if I do decide to keep it.  But we'll see. I've had a really busy, crazy, hectic, summer and I haven't had time to sit down and decide what I'm doing with this yet.  Signing off, Rachel...<3
